AutoCAD Rebar Tool
This tool was developed to provide AutoCAD 3D rebar functionality for modelling rebar cages to BS-8666 standards and for generating bending schedules. To learn more about the tool, watch the Overview Video below.
Select one or more blocks, elect for random scales with min & max values, and random rotations.
The requirement for this tool comes from a customer request. The customer in question is responsible for designing rebar cages for pile caps and they are AutoCAD customer without the need for a full structural application. They only need to use a limited number of the standard UK BS-8666 Shape Codes but they need the ability to model and edit the bars and so then create Bending Schedules.
Supported Standard Shape Codes are: 00, 01, 11, 26, 34, 51, 77
- supported Custom Shape Codes are: 99-1 (Helix with top and bottom "triple turns") & 99-2 (a separate "triple turn" that can be combined with a standard Helix)
Calculated bar lengths and weights.

Whilst the tool itself is of course a useful application, it also helps to demonstrate the following capabilities that can be repurposed for other tools, for example:
Modelling complex 3D solid geometry that is saved to standard AutoCAD Blocks with meta-data that enable the geometry or data to be edited without having to deal with custom entities and object enablers.
Extracting information into an AutoCAD Table within the drawing.
Exporting information out to an Excel Spreadsheet.
The tool is built for compatibility with AutoCAD 2021 and AutoCAD 2022 - if you require an earlier version, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
